Retiring This Blog

When I started this blog, I said it was an experiment. In that light, I'm calling an end to the experiment and closing this blog. I'll leave all the posts up indefinitely.

When I meet people through The Urbanophile, the almost universal reaction is, "How do you find time to write that much?" The answer is, I really don't have the time. I am oversubscribed and don't have the bandwidth to really keep up with this, so need to cut back.

What's more, what I had hoped to accomplish with this blog, namely documenting the cool and unknown spaces of Indianapolis, is being done today better than I could ever dream of doing it by The Heidelberger Papers, an absolutely terrific and first rate photo blog that should be required reading for everyone.

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you'll continue to follow me over at The Urbanophile.

Bummer, but I completely understand. I agree, though, Heidelberger Papers does an awesome job.

I echo the comment above, but would add that Urban Indy also does a good job of documenting Indianapolis.

Whoops! I was logged in under my wife's name. Just noticed that.

Thanks for the kind words - and I second the vote on Urban Indy - love the sustainability take on urbanism.

Definitely understandable...I've frequently wondered how you have the time to maintain your blogs. Although I enjoy this blog, I definitely wouldn't want it to come at the expense of The Urbanophile. Thanks for the compliments on my blog as well!

Sorry you're shutting this one down! Like everybody else said, though, we understand (and appreciate) that The Urbanophile is your priority.
