This poor building:( Every time there's talk on utilizing it every few years or so, nothing ever materializes. There's been talk in the past of turning it into a day spa or high end conds just to name a few. I don't know for sure, but could this building be Indianapolis's oldest?

Funny, I was just noticing the state of the upper floors of this building last week. Was this charred in that Washington St. fire a couple decades ago? Or is it just extremely old and in disrepair?

I think it's just years of neglect, or if it was a fire, it was probably an isolated incident separate from that large fire years ago. I asked someone in my office whom worked in the Barnes and Thornburg building (then National Merchants) at the time of that fire, and he said most of the fire was along Meridian Street.

I agree, I want so much for that building. There has been some building on Washington Street this year. Maybe something will materialize. It's a really interesting and strange facade. Were the window bays originally this way... it doesn't seem like it. Does anyone know?
