Indy About to be Pimped on the Stimulus?

Saw an interesting article in Forbes touting their Top 10 Stimulus Boomtowns. Indy wasn't on it. What's more, has anyone heard anything about the city publicizing a list of things it would like to get accomplished with a public works stimulus? I mean, just walk outside your door and look around. This city could easily absorb $10 billion in infrastructure work. I haven't heard a peep out of the city on this. The governor is already educating our congressional delegation on the state's priorities. Mayor Daley in Chicago was in Washington recently with his list. Heck, even Angola put together a list. I realize Mayor Ballard is an "action, not talk" guy, which I appreciate. But I'd certainly feel better if the city came out with a multi-billion list and started lobbying hard for it.

Soon to Be Under Construction (?): Uptown Indy

Signs up for a new commercial development at 49th and College. Only time will tell if this thing gets funded and built. It's notable as one of the rare examples of in town densification, with a mixed use structure actually replacing some single family homes, something almost unheard of in Indianapolis. I'm very pleased to see they called this Uptown, as it is most certainly not Midtown.

Old houses on the chopping block.
