Indy About to be Pimped on the Stimulus?

Saw an interesting article in Forbes touting their Top 10 Stimulus Boomtowns. Indy wasn't on it. What's more, has anyone heard anything about the city publicizing a list of things it would like to get accomplished with a public works stimulus? I mean, just walk outside your door and look around. This city could easily absorb $10 billion in infrastructure work. I haven't heard a peep out of the city on this. The governor is already educating our congressional delegation on the state's priorities. Mayor Daley in Chicago was in Washington recently with his list. Heck, even Angola put together a list. I realize Mayor Ballard is an "action, not talk" guy, which I appreciate. But I'd certainly feel better if the city came out with a multi-billion list and started lobbying hard for it.

You know, for better or for worse, the Ballard Administration is NOT a PR machine. They do not appear to do their posturing in the media.

I had a conversation with a city rep that leads me to believe that the list-making is being done, if not publicized.

I can't say that's a bad way to handle it, either. You don't want to name $1 billion worth of projects and get $100 million...that looks like "failure".

I like the stealth approach, same as was used on the legacy public-safety pensions. Nothing, nothing, then BOOM, there it is: real achievement.
