On Washington St.

The inside of Patty's is about as dumpy as the outside. At least it was the few years ago when I ventured inside. The sign in the picture is a classic. It is much better art than the "On Ohio St." post of Nov. 29. Really it should be saved for posterity and in this location too after Patty's is gone. Across the street is Taco Bell. It seems to be the corporate mentality in these times to operate business in a building for several years then abandon the building and build another elsewhere. So it would be logical for Pepsi/Taco Bell to tear down Patty's to build a new Taco Bell. A lot of our world is at risk this way. At the SE corner of 16th & Concord(Kessler) there is another old sign much like the Patty's sign and of about the same era. It's been painted over but it originally advertised a burger stand and said 17 c burgers. (or some similar price)

When they redid the Circle Theatre they removed the old marquee and installed it inside the Union Station Holiday Inn. I don't know if it's still there or if they moved it elsewhere.
