I've driven by this place a lot and I am pretty curious about it.

It appears that it could be a double.

The large panel appears to be translucent, although it could also be an integrated solar heat collector.

It is an interesting juxtaposition with the old firehouse across the street.

This was designed by the resident, a young architect. It seems to partially be a response to a tight site, as the upper floor is larger than the first level. The large panel is simply Kal-Wall, which provides natural light while still having better insulating properties than glass. I believe the home is still a work in progress as the budget is tight.
